Sacrifice

The average man thinks, speaks, feels, and acts based on his own personal interests.  He feels that the world exists for him, and he most use the world for his personal interests. A noble man thinks he exists for the world.  He is there to be useful to the world, and he tries to improve himself in any way possible to render greater service to others, meeting their needs on various levels. Sacrificial service works to bring great joy to others, even if the labour brings deep sorrow, tension or pain.

The mind says" How can i use this man or this object?"  The heart says, "How can I be useful to people and to objects".  The mind says, "That person has come to ask for help. He is lazy; he does not like me; let him learn to work and support himself".  The heart says "I know all this , but the man needs my help. He is me. I will help him in such a way that his needs are met and he is helped to meet his needs in the future".

In sacrificial service, you let the divine energy flow through you without being caught by your illusions, glamours and self-interest.  In sacrificial service, you do not even notice that you are doing something very important.
